Projects for 2010

west foss river trail

Washington Trail Association led over 20 work parties to this popular area in the Alpine Lakes Wilderness, much of which had not been worked on since the flood of 2006. The majority of this work was completed by Youth Volunteers. Volunteers dug out roots and ferns, chopped down vine maple and shrubs, hauled rocks for fill, and crowned the trail with mineral soil to create the new approach.  Overall, WTA contributed over 2,187 hours of trail work, 46% more than what was anticipated.
