Washington Trails Association led a total of 884
hours to address major sections of the Rachel Lake trail.
Key improvements included:

Improving ford crossings

Raising puncheon to reestablish level walking
surface

Brushing through the first two meadows

Re-treading on the section after the first meadow
-
Re-cutting logs to meet Forest Service
specifications

Re-working two fords to allow for better access by
using locally found gravel, placing rock steps and protecting the
work with rock/cobble buffer walls

Preventing water running down the trail at the
2-mile marker by removing roots and rocks, building drainage
features, and installing steps

Adding drain dips and ditches
